This is my second 5" build. First Chameleon.
My first build was QAV-X with an underslung battery - https://rotorbuilds.com/build/5862
After hearing about the benefits of a top mounted battery and many people race on about the Chameleon, I knew this frame would be my second build.
I wanted a build with separate ESCs, so the new CL Racing F4 flight controller was a must. First, you can't beat the layout. Second, it's a fraction of the cost of other FC/pdb/OSD combos. And it has a built in buzzer!
I know the Chameleon isn't the lightest frame, but I wanted to pick light components to try and keep it as light as possible. At 320g dry and 569g AUW with a GoPro, I think I succeeded.
I chose the bottomless Hyperlight V4 2206 2522kv because they are about 2.5g lighter than most 2206s. I also wanted to concentrate the weight in the center of gravity, not out on the arms. I picked the tiny Emax bullet 30As for the same reasons. Titanium hardware helps shed a few grams.
The XSR is mounted to the bottom of the FC and wired for s.port telemetry. The Unify Pro HV is wired for smart audio.

APRIL 2018 UPDATE
this Chameleon is now on 900mz thanks to a FrSky R9 Slim and immortal T - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2575311
What a great build. Weight reduction to mitigate the biggest downside to arguably the best frame on the market today. A+
I was thinking about doing something similar, inspired by this, with a RunCam split to avoid the GoPro weight,
What kind of flight times are you seeing?
