I wanted a full featured and heavy duty build and this checks off everything.

The FC has PDB tabs and wouldn't fit underneath the canopy. I ended up "dropping" the esc 4mm below the frame and sandwiching it. Still a very tight build. Hoping the 15A esc will still cool with only 1105 motors attached.

AUW is 110 gram with 3S Iihv battery, 99 gram with some GNB 2S. Not the lightest, but I am using the top frame, canopy , a beeper, buzzer, led, all motor screws, aluminum stack screws and spacers.

Notes:
ESC only has M2 mount holes. The FC has M3 , but comes with soft mounts which shrink the opening to M2.

I could only get ibus to work with UART1 which was underneath the board (I left SP pads soldered together, but not sure if that was needed).

How do you like those motors?

What motors do you think you'll go with? I'm scoping out a build but want real punchy motors.

I just got AirbladeUAV 1104 10,000kv. The build quality is nice, and the magnets are less "notchy" then the 1105B. I weighed the motors at 5 grams each, but they are also rated for 3s.... 3s at 10,000kv...60 grams total without battery...I may only get to fly this thing once.

My other options were the new 1106 motors, but 3s at 10,000kv....

The Emax 1106 4500kv's look pretty good IMO.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
