This is the setup I used in the regional finals for region 6C. The build performed exceptionally and was capable of 6 laps, even though my piloting was not. Extremely happy with the fact that it recorded HD footage for every race of the day!

those quads look wicked! how durable/powerful are those motors?

These motors really surprised me with their power! Especially for their price point and stator size. So far I have broken 2. Both took the brunt of either a metal gate or concrete at full speed. I wouldn't expect any motor to come out of crashes like those unscathed. The only downside is that they are not hollow shaft, so they are prone to shearing if you screw on the nut too tight. Overall I would highly recommend them if you are looking for a budget motor. If not, you might consider the 2206 RDQ motors which have hollow shafts

I don't think I've seen the runcam split used in tandem like this before.

Yesterday two guys told me that the Split can have problems with the connection between the camera and the main board. So may be this configuration was the way for have the HD image with a low weight.

The reason I did it this way was because of the tiny bit of latency the split introduces. I haven't had any problems with the split that a firmware update hasn't fixed

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
