Undertow - Re-Issue

The original Undertow - my first build based on the UAV Futures $99 (Upgrade) build - finally met it's doom in early September when I cracked the orginal frame. Rather than replace the cracked frame, I replaced it with the Anniversary Special Edition Realacc Purple215 frame - a perfect choice given the purple theme of this quad.

I had to also ditch the old PDP and ESC boards and replace them with a single Spedix IS30 4 in 1 - there simply wasn't enough room in the tiny space available.

Other than that everything from the old Undertow is still intact - Omnibus F3, motors, props, VTX and RX.

Update: switched over to HQ props as the Avans - despite the amazing handling - are too fragile. Phaser FPV has speedy delivery here in Australia.

What pigtail did you connect to your VTX03 to get the SMA antenna on there?

I just coiled it up inside. You can also let it hang out the back and heat shrink it for extra protection. Better to be too long than a fraction short I say!

I think you jinxed me - it got sliced up yesterday by the props!

Nice build.
This is my first build.
I used external escs, and a runcam swift mini, then I discovered what tight is.
I never thought about shrink and float them in the frame. Great idea.

Wow, you managed to fit two boards and an XSR in there! I didn't think it could be done. Nice work!

Ha thanks... it took me 2 nights to figure it out - I tried every manner of double sided tape and zip ties. In the end I just heat shrinked them and just rested them on top of the FC without ANY kind of fixing. Coz the canopy is so tight there is no chance they'll slip out!

That's what I did. Not going to fall out of there.

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
