Routed the wires a bit better to hide in the body. Replaced zip ties with repair tape. Added a pvc coupler and dome to protect gps and fc. Painted it, not realizing it looked like an upside-down Boba fett...

I may replace some props for better orientation, or will replace with carbon fiber once I run through what I have.

Looking good! It's a huge improvement over the previous photos.

MrBeetle   Jul 05, 2016

With this battery, I'm getting about 30 mins of loiter time (about 50 mins of mostly 5' off the ground, landing/taking off/etc) Esc's and motors get pretty warm (not hot).

Whiffles   Jul 05, 2016

Wow, not bad. That sure isn't a cheap battery though!

Silverlogic55   Jul 05, 2016

I'm with Whiffles, I much prefer to see the AP rigs. All the racers start to look the same, where as the AP rigs have and entirely different set of problems to overcome and design goals to attain. I don't have any experience with that flight controller but I cant recommend PixHawk enough, if you ever look to upgrade.

Whiffles   Jul 05, 2016

Great to see an AP rig for a change. Do you plan to put a gimbal on this?

MrBeetle   Jul 05, 2016

Eventually, yes. Fpv as well, but just getting into the hobby now. Need to learn to fly first... Already broke the landing gear on this guy, I don't think they really like the 3kg weight. Changed over to 6" pvc rings to learn better. Don't want to risk gimbles and such yet

Whiffles   Jul 05, 2016

Oh no! Have you learned to fly on a micro or nano first? That's crucial. And yes, good idea to wait on the gimbal as they're extremely fragile.

I did a bit, but not nearly enough... :)

PVC rings are working like a charm, and I'm gaining more confidence... Still haven't gone more that 10' or so. (The stock legs in that frame are kinda crap)

When the FatShark HDOs hit the market in 2018 the FPV community rejoiced for the new Sony OLED displays. While they lacked further upgrades like an updated DVR and power button they were still a market success. With the 2019 announcement of the Orqa FPV.One the community finally had a potential HDO killer on the horizon. With only weeks before the release of the Orqa FPV.One Skyzone came out of left..
