TBS Raggio Lungo 7"

A full TBS Raggio Lungo build with 7" props.

I was impressed at how easily the build came together, with the GPS, Crossfire, and camera plugging into the TBS Powercube Elite stack with the provided cables and no soldering! The only things I soldered on the build were the pigtail, ESC power/signal/ground, and the massive capacitor bank I added for 5S/6S compatibility.

Once installed, the FPVision setup screen came up, and it took just a moment to get it all set up, then everything just worked out of the box. I did have to configure a channel to send Link Quality, then select PPM as the source under the OSD > RSSI configuration menu, but then I was basically done. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to get going thanks to TBS’ tight integration with all its components. The only thing missing is SmartAudio control of the VTX with LUA scripts, otherwise, it’s perfectly integrated.

Hey mate, loving this frame! One question - would it be possible to fold the front and rear arms forward? Then bolt them back into place using a wing nut or similar?

lazd   May 20, 2019

Yup, I can't see any reason why that wouldn't work. You'd just need to loosen the inner screw and remove the outer screw.

Do any of the 3D printed parts come with the frame?

One last thing before i bite the bullet, will the Micro Eagle fit in the turret?

lazd   Feb 27, 2018

It'll fit just fine, though with the bigger lens, the camera angle may be higher than you want. You can always shave the turret with an Xacto to get it lower though!

Alright I placed my order! I think I'm going to go with the Beitian BN-880 for GPS

Holy flying fuck that looks awesome. Any words for how the powertrain feels?

recon   Feb 26, 2018

Hell yeah LAZD! Clean build. Definitely grabbing this frame for my tax refund fleet. Any clearance issues with a Hobbywing F4 stack or should I go back to individual ESCs?

lazd   Feb 26, 2018

Awesome! No issues with the Hobbywing stack, it'll fit perfectly with the included 20mm standoffs! That said, I bet your motor wires aren't long enough, heh.

recon   Feb 26, 2018

You know it, lol. That's where the Racewire comes into the picture. Gotta love progression. Thanks for the quick reply!

Looks absolutely phenomenal for cruising! Mind sharing recommended batteries & expected flight times?

lazd   Feb 25, 2018

Not yet! I did about 5:30 on my 6" Raggio with an 1800mAh 6S on HQ 6x3x3 V1S at cruising speeds of around 70 knots, so I'm excited to see what I can on 7" with an even lower kV!

Looking forward to hearing about the flight times. Also, any jello in the video?

You've probably heard the term "Cinewhoop". Traditionally it's a 3" ducted quad capable of carrying a GoPro Hero7 Black at a low 10 degree angle. More recently the term "Cine" has been applied to a number of RTF quads ranging from 85mm to 3". They all focus on their HD capability, but none compare to the stabilization of Hypersmooth (only available on the Hero7 Black). This is what really offers that..
