Originally my babyshark. I was annoyed by the micro cmos cam: bad low light, bad dynamic range, and also poked out from the front of the canopy because the cam I got had a longer lens than the canopy was designed for. So I designed a new canopy that works with cam+vtx AIOs, which I've found has better video quality.
This build is relatively heavy, ~45g dry. The 300mah nanotechs sag immediately. The 450mah glaciers do a lot better.
This build has gone through a lot of variation: different flight controllers, props, batteries, cams - and it seems to fly well no matter what. Also I finally broke the bottom plate on my original babyshark, and swapped things over to a 2.5" 3mm thick prototype babyshark from lazd. Need to do a more careful comparison, but 2.5" feels surprisingly good even on these little 1103s. 3mm is excessive, and pushes the dry weight to ~50g w/ rotorx 2535 biblades, ~53g w/ the gemfan flash, but it still handles quite well.
are the eagle power motors nice? better than the racerstars?
Sure thing. Using your own wire isn't a bad idea, check out this tutorial from fishpepper: https://fishpepper.de/2017/09/08/tutorial-replacing-stiff-motor-wires-with-flexible-ones-no-more-breaking-wires-br1103b/
It's just a bit of work to do it for all 4 motors :-).
whats your flight time on those gemfan flash 2.5 props?
Did you design the camera 3d mount? Can you post where you got it please. I printed your canopy which I love. My frame will be here on friday and I am trying to get everything ready to go.
Cool!
The cam mount is the same configuration/dimensions as the Falcon Multirotors Tinyshark: a little tray that holds the cam and mounts to the two front electronics stack screws, underneath the ESC. Here are the designs from Falcon Multirotors for the Tinyshark mount: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2608546
Good luck! Would love to hear how your build turns out :)
Awesome flying, loved that first little clip. Playgrounds are great and those Cyclones are AMAZING! One tip, try either diving through or swooping up through that set of circular monkey bars. It looks really cool to come up through it, do a half flip so you pitch down facing it, and then shoot off and keep flying.
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..
Read moreWith the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..

can you build it on a whoop frame?
