Update: The new Caddx nebula pro camera allows you to save 3-4g of weight without really compromising image quality. Bludz was kind enough to design a new canopy that fits the new camera: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4724162/files.
I set out to build a light, efficient, quiet, versatile, digital DJI cruiser and freestyler that I can fly almost anywhere.
It can easily be modified to suit individual needs:
I'm happy to discuss this build in the comments!
Credit where credit is due:
hey you inspired me to build this toothpick! I am not used to tune in BF, can you share you BF dump?
So here we go
BabyVulture 3"
It was flying pretty decent, need a few tuning, but then I decided to changed some things like:
But the be honest it is flying worst, I think because of the weight and I am not familiar tuning BF because I use FalcoX (Flightone) on my others kwads
Nice one! At the end you went to the sanchez air it is really light even on 3mm. I'm still flying mine having fun. I followed your recommendation to use 3016 triblades and in comparison with bi-blades are much responsive and little less noisy I think....gloablly really happy with that combination. On windy conditions is really shaking, improve a bit when I tryed 3s 1000mah. I guess this combination with the top mounting seems quite sensitive to wind....more than others.. With 1000mah I get total weight of 77+82 lipo= 159grs. 8.15 minutes flying smooth with some light acro....I will try next time to be more relax to see how it goes and with zero wind condition. How goes yours with the HV 520 mah?
Hey man, yeah I'll have to see about the durability of the Sanchez Air, but it should be fine with 3mm. Glad to hear you're happy with your build! I guess bad wind handling is the price you have to pay for a small and quiet build... 159g is a bit heavy for those small motors, no? Unless you really just want to cruise.
how much flight time are you getting with the batteries you've mentioned ?
