AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

Nice to see a Runcam Split 3" build. I think they're perfect for 3" and 4". What does it weigh dry?
300g including Battery,
196g dry without battery.
I really like this build, because except of the small carbon file I had to do everything fits pretty good and it's a much cleaner build compared to a few of my qav-v 5" builds.
Also I'm impressed by the quality of the runcam split ... the only cons I see so far after the maiden flight is that props air flow is disturbing the mic of the split ... which leads to a sound ... that is crazy and could be used in a horror movie as a banshee audio line ... :-)
Maybe try flying props out instead? That may eliminate some of the sound. I'm building a very similar rig this week. I can't wait for HD on a 3".
I've read that putting some foam on the mic might solve the noise problem, have you tried that ?
Oh .. nice gona try that ...
