Sweet Lil Hummer

This lil sweetie is the replacement for this guy: https://rotorbuilds.com/build/8732.

Previous build had great power with Emax 1106's but was also a porky 100g which was obvious when flying. I liked the power but found it impossible to fly hard without getting terrible battery sag and always felt like the 2:30 fly time was just too short.

For this build my intention is to correct ills of previous build while retaining or gaining speed / thrust. To do this I wanted to keep weight as low as possible while finding a motor with a bit more efficiency & less weight. For this I chose the GEPRC Hummingbird frame and Airblade 1105 10000kv motors. I intend to run them on 3S and give them 50/50 on exploding but its a worthy experiment for such a powerful, light combo. Overall weight came in at 75g. If you're considering this frame I should probably mention that it is really tight!! Definitely do not recommend for your first build (or probably even your second)...

Maiden flight tomorrow - will report back...

Update -holy balls has this thing exceeded expectations. It honestly punches and accelerates every bit as hard as a 5". Unlike a 5", however, it has no inertia so it slows down really fast which takes some getting used to. Motors were a bit warm when I landed but nothing to be alarmed about. In summary, I would highly recommend this build for anyone who wants the balls-out fastest 2" that you can build or buy (and I would include the Emax Hawk R in this statement).

You run it on 3S 2”? No issue I assume?

Yep, 3S on 2" and no problems with the motors. They come back a little warm but nothing to be alarmed about. If anything, its the batteries that suffer. So far, I've had the best luck with GNB 550mah.

Sounds great. Do you have any footage? Yeah battery will def suffer. I guess if you fly 650mah 2S it would be decent in terms of flight time

AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

With the release of the DJI FPV Drone cinematic FPV has become a lot more accessible, but you certainly don't want to crash a $750 drone! The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
