A prototype full SLA printed frame, inspired by the insect world. The codename "Pipedream" is temporary, please let me know what you think the frame should be named in the comments!
This is the V1 of my answer to constantly breaking 0603 motors on other prototypes I've built. It's stiffer, has more protection, and weighs less.
This build has an F3 FC with OSD, FrSky XM RX, and an AIO camera. The AIO camera is secured using a 30mm rubber band, and the battery is secured using 2x 30mm rubberbands installed under the FC. Changing battery rubberbands involves removing two screws from the top of the FC, lifting it up, and slipping the rubberband underneath. This keeps the rubber band securely in place and isn't too much trouble to change.
The frame weighs 5.8g, the build is 23g dry, and the all up weight is 29g with a GNB 260mAh battery.
have you try different resin from Formlab? Tough or rigid resin? We have a Formlab2 at work and I said multiple time that I was going to print a entire frame but never did. lol Nice work btw!
btw @lazd you need to join this group - i posted this there and they had a lot of interest https://m.facebook.com/groups/1065770156769335
Wow I love the idea ! I started to think and modeled an equivalent kind of frame for a 2.5" last week but I can see I am late.
What material are you using ? I was looking at titan properties and the energy needed to yield it in front of the density is pretty interesting (sad it is so expensive to print it)
AirbladeUAV has done it again and this time they've brought long range to the 5" class! Based on the popular Transformer Mini, the new Transformer 5" Ultralight adopts a lot of the same design philosophies with larger props and more payload capacity. It can fly upwards of 20 minutes on a 4 cell Li-Ion battery pack and in ideal conditions it's got a range of over 4 to 5 miles. In this guide I'll walk..

The QAV-CINE Freybott is a compact, lightweight cinematic FPV drone that can take a hit and keep going. It's a lot safer to fly indoors and around people. With a naked GoPro or the SMO 4k you can capture some great stabilized footage. In this guide I'll show you..
